About our Founder
Founded by Deborah Myers, Elmway Education draws on more than 30 years of professional experience across classroom teaching, school leadership, commissioned services and senior roles in local government. She has held Director of Education roles in three local authorities and previously served as a Principal Adviser. Across four successive system leadership roles, her portfolios spanned more than 900 schools and nearly 385,000 children.
Her senior leadership experience spans county council, unitary authority and metropolitan borough contexts, giving her a strong understanding of the complexity of education systems and the challenges facing schools, local authorities and wider partners. She continues to work at senior local-authority system level, supporting complex education and children’s services priorities.
Deborah is a strategic senior education and SEND leader with a strong track record in improvement, commissioning and system leadership across the education and childrens services sector. She understands the complex educational landscape and the challenges facing schools, local authorities and wider partners.
Her work is driven by a personal drive to improve the life chances of children and young people, champion high-quality education, and strengthen the systems that support them.
She is passionate about education and children’s social care working closely together. Children and families lead complex lives, and securing positive learning experiences and good outcomes requires joined-up, strategic working across education, children’s social care and wider partner services.
